Stephen King Books
Hi Watcher. I have made your deletion requests for your old Stephen King pages into redirects, instead of deleting them. This way, if somebody types ''Word Processor of the Gods'', they land in the right place. Thanks for your contributions. -- Chris 73 | Talk 11:33, 10 May 2004 (UTC)
Mozilla
I don't follow you when you say "you say you did all the IT build support"; can you tell me where you saw that? I've not done much with Mozilla except run it and peruse the web site.
Anyway, I don't think I've tinkered with complex builds either. Most of the programming that I work on is my own stuff (mostly trivial stuff) or for work.
Sorry!

Dante
Well, it's certainly not a direct quote, as I learned by doing a bit of digging. President Kennedy seems to have attributed the line to Dante, and it was likely taken from a passage in Inferno, perhaps liberally translated. http://www.bartleby.com/73/1211.html is a reference. --Dante Alighieri

Watchers According to Jewish folklore, the Watchers or Grigori are a superior order of angels whose proper place is either second or fifth heaven. They are often described as looking like human beings, but much larger. They are said to never sleep and are supposedly forever silent. While there are good and bad Watchers, most stories revolve around the evil ones that fell from grace when they took "the daughters of man" as their own.
In Genesis chapter 6 the Bible talks about the sons of God that observed the daughters of man and how they took them as wives. It also says they (the daughters of man), bore children unto them, (the sons of God). Genesis 6:1-4. These "sons" could have either been the fallen angels or just angels who inhabited the earth to watch man - and enventually cohabitate with man.
The watchers are also talked about in Daniel 4:13, but are mentioned along side "an holy one" as if the two have separate meanings. S.L.G.
In Gustave Davidson's "Dictionary of Angels", individual Watchers were named for teaching different techniques to humanity:
Armaros taught men the resolving of enchantments.
Arakiel taught men the signs of the earth.
Azazel taught men to make knives, swords, and shields. He also taught them how to devise ornaments and cosmetics.
Baraqel taught men astrology.
Ezekeel taught men meteorology.
Gadreel introduced to them weapons of war.
Kawkabel taught the science of the constellations.
Penemue instructed mankind in writing and taught children the "bitter and sweet, and the secrets of wisdom".
Sariel taught men about the course of the moon.
Semjaza taught men enchantments, root-cutting, and other arts of divination.
Shamshiel taught men the signs of the sun.

Watcher In The Water The Watcher in the Water in J.R.R. Tolkien's universe of Middle-earth is a mysterious and horrific beast that lurked in a lake caused by the damming of the Sirannon river, beneath the western walls of Moria.
In Tolkien's ''The Lord of the Rings'', the Watcher attacks the Fellowship as they were attempting to open the Doors of Durin and enter Moria. There is very little known about the creature. Even Gandalf did not know what the Watcher was, or whether there were many of its kind. It grasped Frodo with a long tentacle, possibly with a fingered end, which was pale green and luminous. Many other tentacles emerged from the water after the one which grasped Frodo was driven away, but it is not totally clear whether these were all part of the same multi-armed beast, or a number of monsters acting together. In any case, the creature or creatures possessed great strength; after the escape of the Fellowship into Moria, the arms hurled the enormous stone doors shut and uprooted the trees which grew to either side, barring the doors. In the book A Tolkien Bestiary, the Watcher is identified as being a Kraken, it is implied that there are some differences between the kraken of Norse legend and the Kraken of Tolkien's mythos.

Weight Watchers
Weight Watchers , founded in the 1960s by Jean Nidetch, is a company offering various dieting products and services to assist weight loss. It started as a discussion group for how to best lose weight. It now operates in about 30 countries around the world, generally under the name "Weight Watchers" translated into the local language. Its most prominent celebrity endorser is Sarah, Duchess of York.
Varying on location, Weight Watchers generally offers two distinct programs:
The POINTS program
The Core program
The programs are supplemented by optional support groups which meet regularly and provide ground assistance to those trying to meet weight-loss goals.
In the UK, Weight Watchers advertises under the slogan "where no food is a sin" in reference to its chief competitor Slimming World's system of giving some food "sin" values.
From 1978 until 1999, the Weight Watchers company was owned by the H. J. Heinz Company, which continues to produce packaged foods bearing the Weight Watchers brand name. Weight Watchers was acquired in a leveraged buyout in 1999 and went public in 2001.
POINTS System
The POINTS system is based on allocating servings of food a specific number of points. A program participant is allowed to eat food that amounts to a certain number of points per week. The number of permitted points for an individual is calculated based on the individual's weight goals, and the level of physical activity of the participant.
The formula for calculating the POINTS content of a specific food serving uses a formula described in US Patent 6,040,531:
:
Where ''p'' is the number of points, ''c'' is the number of calories, ''f'' is the grams of fat, and ''r'' is the grams of dietary fibre (if the dietary fibre is greater than four, use four).
