Ean Schuessler

Ean Schuessler is a former president of Software in the Public Interest and the CTO of Brainfood Media Systems. Schuessler is a maintainer in the Debian Project and is active in Kaffe and other Free Software Java projects. Schuessler and fellow employees competed in the 2001 and 2002 seasons of Battlebots, achieving a ranking of 35 in the middle class weight group. Schuessler is also a long-time collaborator in the Disturbathon art happening project in Dallas, Texas with David Hanson, Steve Aydt, Forrest Jackson and many others.

Gil Eanes

Gil Eanes (Eannes) was a 15th century Portuguese navigator and explorer. Eanes was in the service of the Portuguese prince Henry the Navigator. Eanes made unknown number of voyages along the African coast. In his voyage in 1433, he sailed along coast of Africa and reached Canary Islands. He was the first to sail beyond Cape Bojador in 1434 and return. The discovery of a passable route around Cape Bojador marked the beginning of the Portuguese exploration of Africa. Before the trip of Eanes, there was a legend of a Green Sea of Darkness, beyond the Cape Bojador. Eanes made another voyage, with Alfonso Goncalves Baldaya, in 1435. They sailed about 30 leagues (144 km), or even 50 leagues (240 km) south of Cape Bojador and reached African coast.

AntóNio Ramalho Eanes

António dos Santos Ramalho Eanes (born in Alcains, Castelo Branco, 1935) was a Portuguese General and politician. After a long military career in the Colonial Wars, he was stationed in Angola when the April 25 revolution took place. He joined the MFA and after returning to Portugal, he was made president of RTP (Portuguese public television). In 1976 he was elected President of the Republic being, at the end of 1980, reelected into office until February of 1986. After the presidential period, he headed the Democratic Renovator Party (Portuguese: Partido Renovador Democrático), resigning, however, in 1987.
